Today we'll be reviewing one of the pieces repped by Jacmelien, none other than the merch from Kanye West's Ye album release party in 2018. Photos Below. Let's get right into it.

How This Rep was Produced



I was curious to know the process Jacmelien took before I made a purchase. I contacted the store in their little chat window and asked them if the photos were of the actual product or not. They replied that the first photo was, but I did some further digging and asked them how they were making them. The girl on the chat was polite, and gave me a bit of history into Jacmelien.com.



Apparently the company started back in 2015 and began with a couple of artists, both of which are savvy in digital design, and one who is a freelance photographer who has worked events for major artists like Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Travis Scott and the like. A friend of theirs had started a t-shirt printing business right around the time one of the guys had come back from a shoot in California. He returned with several pieces of the original merch and an idea that kept coming to mind.

Jacmelien's items for sale, I was assured, are items that were produced after studying the original pieces. They are high quality and detail oriented, and printed on the same garments. 


I didn't need to hear any more, and I placed my order.



How Long Shipping Took



It took them three days to dispatch my order. To be safe I ordered just one tee. I wear an XL and was told it was a true to size fit so I bought a long sleeve Jackson Hole / Wyoming album viewing tee in XL. I live in New York, and the package shipped out of Georgia on a Thursday afternoon. I received it in the mail Monday morning, exactly one week after ordering. Not bad in my book. I've had items from Amazon ship slower than this, so I was pleased to see a blue package at my door step.



The packaging was nothing special. It didn't come in a fancy box and it didn't have nice labeling.



The shirt itself was packaged well, it was folded in a way where the mountain image was not creased. It had kind of a new car smell which was a good sign to me because the smell was definitely from screen printing which is how I had hoped the shirt would be made. I unfolded it to take some photos.



Overall Quality



I'm impressed. The quality is spot on. The design all over is vibrant and colorful. The yellow "Jackson Hole" print on the right sleeve is thick and when I stretch the shirt the ink has a slight give to it.

The teal print on the back really popped out. In addition to his music, I absolutely love Kanye's taste for fashion. His choice of bold, contrasting colors for this series of merch is both aesthetically pleasing and lively.



The front of the design is a neon green "Wyoming" on top of the Jackson Hole Mountain range where Kanye bought land and built his house. The image is clear and crisp, and though I cannot tell if the front chest image is screen printed or not, I am 100% satisfied with this purchase. For a $50.00 shirt, this was well worth the investment. I may decide to resell it later on, but for now it's staple piece of my collection.



The shirt itself comes with a Gildan tag. Most of Kanye's tour merch is notoriously printed on Gildan, and I don't see why people give the brand such a bad rep. It's a full cotton tee, it's soft and breathable, better quality fabric than some of the shirts I've come and gone through. It's not thin, but it's not too thick. It only makes sense that you can take something worth $2.00 and put your time and effort into embellishing it to make it into something worth more. People who say otherwise about the Gildan brand are just too lazy to do something like that for themselves. But hey, we can't all be Kanye.

About the Drop itself

Kanye West released his Ye album in 2018. According to Power 106 Los Angeles, Ye sold about $500,000.00 worth of his Jackson Hole Wyoming march in the first 30 minutes of it’s release. The album viewing party was held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and it looked like a good time. Whether a person is a fan of how some of the other shirts from the drop turned out aesthetically or not, one can still see the value in his presentation.

The age old saying says that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Like a true lover, no matter the amount of time that passes nor the clothes he or she puts on will change the love you feel for them. They still appear the same way they did the first time you laid eyes on them. That’s the feeling I have towards Kanye’s merch. All I hear when I see the merch he drops is the  soundtrack of his songs over the past two decades on replay. The man is talented, keeps delivering, has a great work ethic, and makes things happen.

Jesus is King Release

I left a review on their product page after I got my shirt. I figured it could score me a coupon since Jacmelien is relatively new. They sent an email asking me when my birthday was, so they could send me a free gift, so I encourage that if you buy something from them, you leave a review for a free gift.

Ye’s upcoming album is Jesus is King. There’s a movie in IMAX theaters. I asked the representative on Jacmelien if they would be carrying any of the merch that Ye recently dropped in anticipation for his upcoming album release. She simply said that they would when they get their hands on the originals to do it justice. I asked if they had a regular schedule that they upload new merchandise to their shop, she said they often upload new items weekly.

Hopefully they will carry the new merch soon. I am planning to do a review on Jacmelien’s Sunday Service at the Mountain Coachella Sweatshirt next because the representative told me it was 1:1 print including a neck tag. I will write back again when I buy it next.
